Asymmetric Electrolytes Govern Tetrahydroxozincate Dynamics for Stable Alkaline Zinc Batteries
Angewandte Chemie, EarlyView.This research tackles the limitations of alkaline zinc batteries by designing a series of metalloporphyrin molecules (Co‐4N, Co‐3N‐O, Co‐3N‐S) as electrolyte additives. The asymmetric structures, particularly Co‐3N‐O, accelerate the Zn(OH)42− decomposition via a modulated metal center and control Zn2+ transport through carboxyl groups.

Advanced Science, EarlyView.This study elucidates how steric hindrance in amines creates a dual effect in CO2 capture: it thermodynamically favors the reaction by shifting the pathway from carbamate to alkyl carbonate formation, increasing capacity and lowering regeneration heat, while simultaneously slightly slowing the kinetics.
