Configuration Study of Structurally Integrated Thermal Protection Systems for a Sub-Orbital Platform

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2015
The atmospheric hypersonic flight of sub-orbital and space vehicles generates aerodynamic heating and high wall heat fluxes, inducing high temperatures on the vehicle’s structures and affecting their mechanical behavior, besides degrading the operation ...

Linear Invariant Systems Theory for Signal Enhancement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper discusses a linear time invariant (LTI) systems approach to signal enhancement via projective subspace techniques. It provides closed form expressions for the frequency response of data adaptive finite impulse response eigenfilters.

Mesoscale Stationary Features in the Dayside Clouds of Venus

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract We present new detections of mesoscale stationary features, which are interpreted as gravity waves, on the dayside clouds of Venus. These come from an analysis of images from two instruments onboard different spacecrafts: Visible and InfraRed Thermal Imaging Spectrometer—Mapper (VIRTIS‐M) on Venus Express (VEx) and IR2 on Akatsuki.

Real‐World Usage of CaHA‐CMC:CPM‐HA Hybrid Dermal Fillers: Findings From a Delphi Panel

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 25, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The popularity of minimally invasive aesthetic procedures has increased globally, with a 40.9% increase in non‐surgical procedures between 2019 and 2023. Dermal fillers have gained popularity for delivering visible results with short recovery times.

Urban rendezvous: Spatiotemporal overlap is more important than abundance and trait matching for urban plant–pollinator interactions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 1, January 2026.
Our study shows that the generalized structure of urban plant–pollinator interactions is mirrored in the mechanisms that shape them, as interactions are governed primarily by less restrictive drivers such as abundance and spatiotemporal overlap rather than by trait matching.

O espaço como elemento relacional [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
O espaço físico tem sido encarado como algo dado, uma realidade inalterável confinada a fronteiras irreversivelmente delimitadas que lhe confeririam um carácter de estabilidade.

How Management Practices Shape the “Local Habitat Signature” That Modulates Bird Communities in Urban Green Spaces

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Local scale factors, not just the broad urban gradient, are the key drivers of urban bird communities. Our multi‐scale study found that specific management practices, such as managing leaf litter depth or the presence of unmanaged tall grass, explained the largest portion of variation in bird composition.

News sources importance in the construction of the public sphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A discussão que aqui se propõe tem como base o Espaço Público como espaço de exposição, troca de ideias e de recepção de informação, mas também como espaço cada vez menos plural e receptivo à voz da cidadania.

Does the Cave Environment Limit Functional Diversity? Rethinking Patterns in Oniscidea Assemblages From a Neotropical Karst

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Cave habitats strongly filter functional traits, constraining the diversity of terrestrial isopod communities along the epigean–hypogean gradient. Functional turnover decreases while richness differences increase in hypogean systems, reflecting uneven occupation of trait space rather than simple trait replacement.
