SNUPN‐Related Muscular Dystrophy: Novel Phenotypic, Pathological and Functional Protein Insights

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 13, Issue 2, Page 285-295, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective SNUPN‐related muscular dystrophy or LGMDR29 is a new entity that covers from a congenital or childhood onset pure muscular dystrophy to more complex phenotypes combining neurodevelopmental features, cataracts, or spinocerebellar ataxia. So far, 12 different variants have been described.

Credit Risk Assessment in the Climate Shadow: Evidence From White and Grey Literature

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 2, Page 2526-2546, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Climate change is reshaping financial stability, making climate risk a critical component of banks' risk management. However, the absence of standardized frameworks validated by central authorities hinders banks' ability to integrate climate risk into existing credit risk models.

Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Electrospinning

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 2, Page 556-568, February 2026.
Abstract Electrospinning produces micro‐ and nanofibres by forcing a polymeric solution through a fine needle in an electric field that produces a filament that accumulates onto a collector plate. The fibre morphology depends on solution properties, distance between needle and plate, feed rate, and electric field intensity.

Age‐Specific Survival Estimation of a Eurasian Crane Population Highlights a Long‐Term Decline in Juvenile Survival

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
The Eurasian crane (Grus grus), a symbol of conservation success in Europe, has made an impressive recovery. However, our results show that over the study period, juvenile survival declined by almost 30% overall, while sub‐adults experienced a smaller decrease, and adults showed no change.

Jaguar Density at the Northeastern Limit of Its Distribution in Mexico

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study presents the first estimate of jaguar density in northeastern Mexico using a spatial capture–recapture model with random thinning, which incorporates both identified and unidentified camera trap detections. Conducted over 91 days with 104 cameras, the model yielded a density of 1.29 individuals per 100 km2 in the El Cielo–Sierra de Tamalave ...

Effects of maternal education on maternal and perinatal outcomes: An individual participant data meta‐analysis of 2 356 402 pregnancies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 172, Issue 2, Page 886-895, February 2026.
Abstract Background Maternal and perinatal mortality remain critical indicators of global health inequity. In 2020, an estimated 287 000 women died from preventable causes related to pregnancy, and in 2021, approximately 2.3 million neonatal deaths occurred within the first 28 days of life. A recently defined risk group, small vulnerable newborns (SVNs,
