Durable Bio‐Based Nanocomposite Coating on Urinary Catheters Prevents Early‐Stage CAUTI‐Associated Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 13, July 14, 2025.
A stable bio‐based nanocomposite coating for urinary catheters is developed using a simple, environmentally‐friendly sonochemical process. The coating, integrating antimicrobial, antibiofilm, and antioxidant properties, effectively tackled multiple early‐stage pathogenic factors associated with catheter‐associated urinary tract infections.

High‐frequency oscillations >250 Hz in people with Down syndrome and associated Alzheimer's disease dementia

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Alzheimer's disease (AD) dementia has near full penetrance in adults with Down syndrome (DS) and is strongly linked to late‐onset myoclonic epilepsy in Down syndrome (LOMEDS). However, promising biomarkers of epileptogenicity, such as high‐frequency oscillations (HFOs >250 Hz), have not been studied. This study is the first to use

Impact of Alzheimer's disease on sleep in adults with Down syndrome

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Down syndrome (DS) is a genetic form of Alzheimer's disease (AD), with a high prevalence of sleep disorders, but data in adults with DS and dementia are lacking. We aim to assess sleep in adults with DS across the AD continuum. METHODS We studied 78 healthy controls and 229 adults with DS (154 asymptomatic, 25 with prodromal AD ...

The Association of Healthy Eating Index and Sleep Disorders: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2025.
Sleep disorders are associated with overall diet quality. The higher HEI scores are associated with good sleep quality and a reduced risk of abnormal sleep time. ABSTRACT Background Sleep disorders are problems that include both the quality and the time of sleep.

Electrochemical Stability and Ionic Conductivity of AlF3 Containing Lithium Borate Glasses: Fluorine Effect, Strength or Weakness?

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 4, Issue 4, July 2025.
Lithium borate glass with synergic mechanical and electrochemical properties. ABSTRACT Fluorides are commonly regarded as interfacial additives that enhance the electrochemical stability of solid‐state battery electrolytes. In this study, we synthesized lithium borate glassy solid electrolytes and investigated the effect of adding aluminum fluoride ...
