Urbanization Drives Habitat Suitability of the Invasive Cuban Knight Anole (<i>Anolis equestris</i>) in Florida, USA. [PDF]
This study evaluates the climatic and anthropogenic factors driving the habitat suitability of the invasive Cuban knight anole (Anolis equestris) in Florida and its potential impact on three threatened invertebrate species through habitat overlap. Using species distribution models (SDMs), we found that urbanization strongly influences the anole's ...

Preliminary insights of the genetic diversity and invasion pathways of Cedrela odorata in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. [PDF]
Cedrela odorata is the second most invasive tree species in the Galapagos Islands. Using nine microsatellite markers, we found that the genetic diversity of C. odorata in Galapagos is lower (He = 0.55) than in mainland Ecuador (He = 0.81). Our preliminary findings suggest multiple introduction events and that the origin of C. odorata in Galapagos could

Description of the immature stages of the planthopper Lacertinella australis (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) [PDF]
The five immature stages of the planthopper Lacertinella australis(Remes Lenicov and Rossi Batiz) (Hemiptera: Delphacidae: Saccharosydnini) are described and illustrated. The main characters that al-lowed us to distinguish the various

Assessing the mechanisms and impacts of shrub invasion in forests: A meta‐analysis
Taken together, these results suggest that restoration efforts should focus on (i) increasing the presence of strong native competitors or functionally diverse native communities, (ii) decreasing sources of invasive shrub propagules while keeping the canopies closed when invasion occurs via high propagule pressure, (iii) avoiding management techniques ...

Insights from experiences comanaging woody invasive alien plants in Argentina
The complexities of invasive alien species (IAS) management call for a close collaboration among stakeholders to comanage effective solutions. Based on a SWOT analysis, we identified personal motivations as the main force that helps to overcome barriers to to IAS comanagement in Argentina. We recommend the development of spaces to share experiences and

Abstract Internet trade is increasingly recognized as a dispersal pathway of non‐native plant species that is difficult to monitor. We sought to identify non‐native flora present in the Chinese online market, the largest e‐commerce market globally, and to decipher the effect of existing trade regulations, among other variables, on e‐trading patterns ...

While prevention has been long recognised as the most cost‐effective action against biological invasions, here we were able to quantify the reduction in invasion risk under a range of management scenarios. Optimising all management elements included in the FT reduced the overall probability of invasion by three orders of magnitude.
