Stable Isotope Analysis as a Tool to Prevent Illicit Wildlife Trade of Songbirds in Brazil
Animal Conservation, EarlyView.Feather isotopes provide clear differences between wild and captive songbirds in Brazil. Combining multiple isotopes improved classification accuracy and revealed individuals falsely declared as captive‐bred. These results demonstrate the potential of isotope analysis to detect wildlife laundering in the bird trade.

New species and records of Anacis (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Cryptini) from tropical and temperate Andean South America [PDF]
, 2003 Descriptions are given of the new species Anacis ignifera and A. flammigera from Mérida State, Venezuela and of A. umbrifera from Machu Picchu, Perú. These belong to a tropical Andean lineage with strongly projecting propodeal cristae and pictured wings.
