Seeing herbaria in a new light: leaf reflectance spectroscopy unlocks trait and classification modeling in plant biodiversity collections

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 2, Page 811-829, July 2026.
Summary Reflectance spectroscopy is a rapid method for estimating traits and discriminating species. Spectral libraries from herbarium specimens represent an untapped resource for generating broad phenomic datasets across space, time, and taxa. We conducted a proof‐of‐concept study using trait data and spectra from herbarium specimens up to 179 yr old,

High Densities of Large Herbivores Rapidly Disrupt Ecosystem Integrity

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
Human‐driven increases in large herbivore populations are emerging as a widespread global change pressure on terrestrial ecosystems. Using the largest hectare‐scale herbivore density manipulation experiment conducted to date, we show that high deer densities rapidly disrupt ecosystem integrity across multiple dimensions of biodiversity and ecosystem ...

Caracterización de señales Sub-Nyquist con modulación analógica, basada en la distribución de los valores singulares

open access: yesRevista UNIMAR, 2018
En este trabajo se muestra las distribuciones de probabilidad que presentan los valores singulares, obtenidos de la matriz de autocorrelación de las muestras de señales continuas, adquiridas con muestreo Sub-Nyquist random demodulator.

The Non‐Understandable World of Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Therapist's Implicit Understanding and Subsequent Deepened Understanding1

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Psychology, Volume 71, Issue 2, Page 356-378, April 2026.
Abstract This paper examines the concept of non‐understandable in psychotherapy, based on the author's own play therapy with a boy with mild ASD (autism spectrum disorder). ASD is considered to belong to an area beyond comprehension, as psychotherapy is often deemed ineffective for it.

Exploring Young Autistic Children's Family and Independent Digital Experiences at Home

open access: yesChildren &Society, Volume 40, Issue 2, Page 254-264, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigated how young autistic children engaged with digital technologies within the home context. Studying the everyday lives of three families in Queensland, Australia provided opportunities to identify the digital technologies they used and the purpose and potential of the children's digital interactions.

Global insular leaf size shifts follow the island rule, independently of insect herbivory and macroclimate

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 2, February 2026.
We found a positive, non‐linear, saturating relationship between mainland and island leaf sizes, reflecting an island rule‐like pattern. Small‐leaved mainland species tend to develop larger leaves on islands, while this effect weakens for larger‐leaved species, a pattern consistent across both conspecific and congeneric comparisons. Abstract The island

Patient centered care for placenta accreta spectrum: Exploring implementation of recommendations based on reported patient and healthcare provider experiences

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 172, Issue 1, Page 467-481, January 2026.
Abstract Objective Previously, we made recommendations for “family‐centered care” for patients with placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). This study explored patients' experience of their care and how often these recommendations are utilized. Furthermore, we explored whether these recommendations are valued by healthcare providers and identify barriers to ...
