From Herbarium to Landscape: New Records and Mapping Rare and Threatened Species of Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2025.
Botanical collections remain limited in the mountainous areas of the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest, which compromises biogeographic knowledge of endangered and locally endemic species and many others that have not yet been described. Hide and Seek: Species Detectability in a Biodiversity Hotspot Increased by Environmental DNA

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 7, Issue 4, July–August 2025.
We demonstrated through Bayesian modeling that eDNA metabarcoding offers equivalent or higher detectability than traditional field inventory techniques for anuran species in a biodiversity hotspot. The number of recorded species was also higher in seven out of ten sampled streams.
