Magnetic Resonance Elastography and Portal Hypertension: Influence of the Portal Venous Flow on the Liver Stiffness [PDF]
The invasive measurement of the hepatic venous pressure gradient is still considered as the reference method to assess the severity of portal hypertension. Even though previous studies have shown that the liver stiffness measured by elastography could predict portal hypertension in patients with chronic liver disease, the mechanisms behind remain today

Hypoxia promotes the epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) of renal tubular epithelial cells via the SIRT1‐FoxO1‐FoxO3‐autophagy pathway, thereby resulting in the fibrosis of renal tubular epithelial cells. Activation of SIRT1 or induction of autophagy inhibits this process, alleviating hypoxia‐induced fibrosis.

Inverse Learning: Solving Partially Known Models Using Inverse Optimization [PDF]
We consider the problem of learning optimal solutions of a partially known linear optimization problem and recovering its underlying cost function where a set of past decisions and the feasible set are known. We develop a new framework, denoted as Inverse Learning, that extends the inverse optimization literature to (1) learn the optimal solution of ...
