Essentially spectrally bounded linear maps [PDF]
Let L(H) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on an infinite dimensional complex Hilbert space H. We characterize essentially spectrally bounded linear maps from L(H) onto L(H) itself. As a consequence, we characterize linear maps from L(H) onto L(H) itself that compress different essential spectral sets such as the the essential spectrum ...

Insights into PI3K/AKT signaling in B cell development and chronic lymphocytic leukemia
This Review explores how the phosphoinositide 3‐kinase and protein kinase B pathway shapes B cell development and drives chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a common blood cancer. It examines how signaling levels affect disease progression, addresses treatment challenges, and introduces novel experimental strategies to improve therapies and patient outcomes.

Double Identification of the Optimal Hot Deformation Parameter Windows for AlCu4SiMg Alloy [PDF]
In order to achieve hot processing products with expected microstructures, the construction of corresponding relationships between micro-evolution mechanisms and hot processing parameters is essential.

A comparative analysis of web-based GIS applications using usability metrics [PDF]
With the rapid expansion of the internet, Web-based Geographic Information System (WGIS) applications have gained popularity, despite the interface of the WGIS application being difficult to learn and understand because special functions are needed to ...

Self-Organized Criticality Driven by Deterministic Rules
We have investigated the essential ingredients allowing a system to show Self Organized Criticality (SOC) in its collective behavior. Using the Bak-Sneppen model of biological evolution as our paradigm, we show that the random microscopic rules of update

Compactification for essentially finite-type maps
We show that any separated essentially finite-type map $f$ of noetherian schemes globally factors as $f = hi$ where $i$ is an injective localization map and $h$ a separated finite-type map. In particular, via Nagata's compactification theorem, $h$ can be chosen to be proper. We apply these results to Grothendieck duality.

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...
