Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

On some Noetherian criteria for singular integral operators with bounded coefficients

open access: yesActa et Commentationes: Ştiinţe Exacte şi ale Naturii
In this paper, Noetherian conditions are established for singular integral operators with measurable and bounded coefficients. The study is carried out in spaces of integrable functions with certain weights, and the integration contour is assumed to be ...

Essential norm resolvent estimates and essential numerical range

open access: yesJournal of Spectral Theory
The main result of this paper are novel two-sided estimates of the essential resolvent norm for closed linear operators T . We prove that the growth of \|(T-\lambda)^{-1}\|_{\textup{e}}

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Weighted Composition Operators from Dirichlet-Zygmund Spaces into Zygmund-Type Spaces and Bloch-Type Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2022
The boundedness, compactness, and essential norm of weighted composition operators from Dirichlet-Zygmund spaces into Zygmund-type spaces and Bloch-type spaces are investigated in this paper.

Essential Norms of Volterra Type Operators between Zygmund Type Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2017
We investigate the boundedness of some Volterra type operators between Zygmund type spaces. Then, we give the essential norms of such operators in terms of g,φ, their derivatives, and the nth power φn of φ.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

On the Norm of Certain Weighted Composition Operators on the Hardy Space

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2009
We obtain a representation for the norm of certain compact weighted composition operator 𝐶𝜓,𝜑 on the Hardy space 𝐻2, whenever 𝜑(𝑧)=𝑎𝑧+𝑏 and 𝜓(𝑧)=𝑎𝑧−𝑏. We also estimate the norm and essential norm of a class of noncompact weighted composition operators ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Norm and Essential Norm of Composition Followed by Differentiation from Logarithmic Bloch Spaces to Hμ∞

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
In this note we express the norm of composition followed by differentiation DCφ from the logarithmic Bloch and the little logarithmic Bloch spaces to the weighted space Hμ∞ on the unit disk and give an upper and a lower bound for the essential norm of ...
