Especificación y estacionalidad en el Paleolítico Superior de La Cueva de Ambrosio

open access: yesEspacio, Tiempo y Forma. Serie I, Prehistoria y Arqueología, 2008
A través de los análisis taxonómicos que se han venido realizando en los últimos años dentro de los estudios arqueozoológicos, se han generalizado ciertas opiniones acerca de las estrategias cinegéticas del final del Paleolítico Superior.

Long‐Term Fire and Vegetation Change at Cocha Cashu Biological Station, Peru

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 57, Issue 3, May 2025.
Cocha Cashu is a dynamic system that has experienced various forms of past ecological turnover. However, the dynamism seen at Cocha Cashu was not caused by intensive human activities in the past. ABSTRACT Past human influence from the pre‐Columbian and colonial periods may have played a role in shaping modern Amazonian vegetation.

Carbon dynamics in high‐Andean tropical cushion peatlands: A review of geographic patterns and potential drivers

open access: yesEcological Monographs, Volume 94, Issue 3, August 2024.
Abstract Peatlands store large amounts of carbon (C), a function potentially threatened by climate change. Peatlands composed of vascular cushion plants are widespread in the northern and central high Andes (páramo, wet and dry puna), but their C dynamics are hardly known.

Disentangling the drivers of urban bird diversity in the non‐breeding season: A general synthesis

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 30, Issue 7, July 2024.
The impact of urbanisation on bird assemblages has mainly been studied in the breeding season, whereas recent climatic conditions have been changing faster in winter, driving a reorganisation of non‐breeding avifauna. We used worldwide surveys conducted in the non‐breeding season to investigate the environmental factors shaping multiple dimensions ...

Regional differences of functional and taxonomic bird diversity in tropical agroforests of Peru

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2024.
We studied changes in the functional and taxonomic dissimilarity of bird communities in cacao agroforests and adjacent forests in two landscapes dominated by different forest types (dry tropical forest and subtropical rainforest). We found that the functional traits that are most vulnerable to disappear in agroforests at increasing distance from forest

Succession and seasonality drive tropical butterfly assembly after an extreme hurricane

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 56, Issue 3, May 2024.
Butterfly communities were monitored in two nearby Puerto Rican forests for 1 year, beginning 6 months after Hurricane Maria. Neither abundances nor taxonomic diversity followed unidirectional trends during this early stage of succession; instead, seasonal peaks, and valleys were more prevalent. Key functional traits (i.e., wing size, shape, and color)
