A Gold Nanoparticle Nanonuclease Relying on a Zn(II) Mononuclear Complex
Gold nanoparticles passivated with Zn(II) complexes and short peptides were transformed into nanozymes able to very efficiently cleave plasmid DNA with a mechanism not much different from that of mononuclear nucleases. Abstract Similarly to enzymes, functionalized gold nanoparticles efficiently catalyze chemical reactions, hence the term nanozymes ...

The I Ching as a Potential Jungian Application: History and Practice
Abstract Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung had a lifelong interest in the I Ching after discovering it in 1919. Political support through representation by the government. Evidence from Dutch panel data
Abstract Research on political support demonstrates that satisfaction with democracy is higher among electoral winners than losers, and that it is higher for citizens who are ideologically more congruent with the government. In this paper, I analyze how support for the political system is affected by representation by the government.

Dark feet and dark wings: penetrating the depths of the Earth
Abstract The author, although an analyst, is an initiate into the topic of environmental destruction. Following Wendell Berry, she enters the dark and begins a journey of dream‐like reflection, weaving images from her own dream and drawing on the work of Vaughan, Bernstein, Soloveitchik and Sacks.

Drivers and facilitators of hunting behaviour in domestic cats and options for management
Abstract Domestic cats Felis catus are distinct from other domesticated animals because their phenotype and genotype are relatively unchanged. While they live with people as pets or pest controllers, they retain capacity for survival independent of human support and readily persist as feral animals.

Extratropical Low‐Frequency Variability With ENSO Forcing: A Reduced‐Order Coupled Model Study
Abstract The impact of the El Niño‐Southern Oscillation (ENSO) on the extratropics is investigated in an idealized, reduced‐order model that has a tropical and an extratropical module. Unidirectional ENSO forcing is used to mimick the atmospheric bridge between the tropics and the extratropics.

Coastal Migration due to 21st Century Sea‐Level Rise
Abstract Rising mean and extreme sea‐levels and induced increased coastal flooding are expected to lead to massive coastal migration if coasts are not protected. Using a wide range of sea‐level rise (SLR) scenarios, socioeconomic pathways and discount rate assumptions, 21st century coastal migration is assessed at global scale assuming local cost ...
