A Multivariate Analysis of Loss Reserving Estimates in Property-Liability Insurers

The Journal of Risk and Insurance, 1985
This article tests the hypotheses that exogenous economic developments and smoothing activity significantly affect loss reserving errors in the automobile liability insurance line. A sample of sixteen large automobile liability insurers is analyzed using pooled, cross-section time series regression for the period 1955-1975.

Precipitation Estimation in Mountainous Terrain Using Multivariate Geostatistics. Part I: Structural Analysis

Journal of Applied Meteorology, 1992
Abstract Values of average annual precipitation (AAP) are desired for hydrologic studies within a watershed containing Yucca Mountain, Nevada, a potential site for a high-level nuclear-waste repository. Reliable values of AAP are not yet available for most areas within this watershed because of a sparsity of precipitation measurements and the need to ...

Estimation of age in forensic medicine using multivariate approach to image analysis

Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems, 2009
A new method for victims' age estimation, based on the image processing and analysis of remains bones structure, is proposed. Digital images of lumbar vertebras cuts were used as a major information source. The age related properties were extracted from the images using classic texture analysis approach based on statistical analysis of grey-level co ...

Density estimation and some topics in multivariate analysis

2014
Part I, entitled "A test of goodness-of-fit for multivariate distributions with special emphasis on multinornality", investigates a modification of the Chi-squared goodness-of-fit statistic which eliminates certain objectionable properties of other multivariate goodness-of-fit tests.

Estimation of Synergy in Risk Analysis Using Orthogonality Principles, Ancillary Variables and Multivariate Analysis

1991
This paper addresses an issue an issue in risk assessment which has often been acknowledged but for which reliable statistical analysis methods have not been synthesized: estimating synergy in the onset of risk event. Biological, environmental and habit-related factors all influence the detriment or detriments to health which we observe and research ...
