DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Comparative Analysis of Picard and Bayesian Methods for Generalized Weibull: Parameter Estimation with Real Data Applications [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian Statistical Journal
Bayesian methods are widely employed for parameter estimation but often depend on subjective prior specifications, which can impact their robustness. This study evaluates Picard’s approach as a numerical estimation methodology for the generalized Weibull

Semiparametric linear regression with censored data and stochastic regressors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We propose three new estimation procedures in the linear regression model with randomly-right censored data when the distribution function of the error term is unspecified, regressors are stochastic and the distribution function of the censoring variable

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Semiparametric Analysis of Additive–Multiplicative Hazards Model with Interval-Censored Data and Panel Count Data

open access: yesMathematics
In survival analysis, interval-censored data and panel count data represent two prevalent types of incomplete data. Given that, within certain research contexts, the events of interest may simultaneously involve both data types, it is imperative to ...

A practical simulation method to calculate sample size of group sequential trials for time-to-event data under exponential and Weibull distribution. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Group sequential design has been widely applied in clinical trials in the past few decades. The sample size estimation is a vital concern of sponsors and investigators.

Non-parametric Analysis of Interval-Censored Survival Data with Application to a Phase III Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trial

open access: yesBiomedical Statistics and Informatics, 2021
In oncology clinical trials, the exact time of event occurrence such as tumor progression is usually unknown but the time interval within which the event occurs is known.

Additive-multiplicative hazards regression models for interval-censored semi-competing risks data with missing intermediate events

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology, 2019
Background In clinical trials and survival analysis, participants may be excluded from the study due to withdrawal, which is often referred to as lost-to-follow-up (LTF). It is natural to argue that a disease would be censored due to death; however, when

Multivariate Threshold Regression Models with Cure Rates: Identification and Estimation in the Presence of the Esscher Property

open access: yesStats, 2022
The first hitting time of a boundary or threshold by the sample path of a stochastic process is the central concept of threshold regression models for survival data analysis.
