Methyl palmitate reversed estradiol benzoate-induced endometrial hyperplasia in female rats

Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods, 2020
Early detection and treatment of endometrial hyperplasia (EH) is mandatory for endometrial cancer prevention. Several bioactive agents of plant origin have been shown to elicit their chemotherapeutic effect against tumors and cancer via induction of ...

17β-Estradiol 3-Benzoate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1996
In the title compound, 17β-hydroxyestra-1,3,5(10)-trien-3-yl benzoate, C 25 H 28 O 3 , the B, C and D rings adopt envelope, chair and envelope conformations, respectively. Both phenyl rings are planar. The structure is internally stabilized by C-H...O hydrogen-bond interactions and is also externally stabilized by one O-H...O and one C-H...O hydrogen ...

Prolactin and Gonadotropin Responses in Geldings to Injections of Estradiol Benzoate in Oil, Estradiol Benzoate in Biodegradable Microspheres, and Estradiol Cypionate

Journal of Equine Veterinary Science, 2008
We previously reported success in inducing early ovulation in seasonally anovulatory mares with a combination of estradiol pretreatment followed by daily administration of a dopamine antagonist (sulpiride). Although every-other-day injections of estradiol benzoate (EB) were effective in that experiment, practical application of this technology would ...

The metabolic fate of estradiol benzoate in female dog

Journal of Steroid Biochemistry, 1979
Abstract The metabolic fate of estradiol benzoate (estradiol 3-benzoate) was studied in intact and biliary fistula dogs. The steroid used was labeled with 3H at position 6 and 7 of the steroid nucleus and with 14C at the carbonyl carbon of the benzoyl group, thus affording the opportunity to ascertain the loss of the benzoyl group and the fate of ...

Comparative study of stress response, growth and development of uteri in post-weaning gilts challenged with zearalenone and estradiol benzoate.

Journal of animal physiology and animal nutrition, 2019
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of zearalenone (ZEA) and estradiol benzoate (EB) on stress injury and uterine development in post-weaning gilts.

Estradiol benzoate for preventing pregnancy in mismated dogs

Theriogenology, 2006
We investigated the use of a single treatment of estradiol benzoate (E2B) to prevent pregnancy in mismated dogs, including effects of dose, side effects, and mechanism of action. We used 74 female beagles aged 1-10 year. A single treatment of E2B (0.025, 0.05, 0.10, or 0.20 mg/kg; 10 dogs/dose) given 2 days after mating (5 days after ovulation ...

Effect of Estradiol Benzoate on Lipid Metabolism in the Rat

Endocrinology, 1967
The effect of estradiol benzoate on the concentration of lipids in the plasma, liver and heart and on the incorporation of acetate 1-14C into lipids in these tissues has been studied in adult male rats. Following the daily injection of 1.7 mg of estradiol benzoate for 5 days, estrogen- treated and control animals were injected with 14 μc of sodium ...

Contact dermatitis to estradiol benzoate

Contact Dermatitis, 1981
Three patients developed facial dermatitis after contact with preparations containing estradiol benzoate. Patch tests were positive to estradiol henzoate 0.1% in MEK but negative to other related estrogens including estradiol. All three patients also had positive tests to resorcinol monobenzoate and two out of three to balsam of Peru. Most likely ...

Effects of estradiol benzoate and castration on LH in experimental hyperprolactinemia

Journal of Steroid Biochemistry, 1983
Female rats of the Wistar strain were rendered hyperprolactinemic by grafting one additional pituitary gland under the right kidney capsule at various ages (5 days group A; 30 days group B and 90 days group C). Age matched animals were sham operated to serve as controls. Plasma levels of PRL and LH were measured by specific double antibody RIA.

Effects of estradiol benzoate on the pattern of eating and ethanol consumption☆

Physiology & Behavior, 1982
The effects of daily injections of 5 microgram estradiol benzoate (EB) on the patterns of food and ethanol consumption were studied in ovarectomized rats given free access to food, a 10% ethanol solution, and water. EB led to an immediate, but transient, suppression of both food and ethanol intake.
