17β-Nandrolone (17β-NT) is one of the most frequently misused anabolic steroids in meat producing animals. As a result of its extensive metabolism combined with the possibility of interferences with other endogenous compounds, detection of its illegal use often turns out to be a difficult issue.

17,17-Ethylenedioxy-1,3,5(10)-estratrien-3β-ol (I) was converted into ethyl ester II by reaction with ethyl chloroacetate in the presence of potassium. Production et accumulation de sédiments biogènes sur les estrans sableux.

Les tests des organismes marins sont à l'origine d'une production renouvelable de sédiments calcaires et siliceux sur les plages. Sur la plage de Combrit dans le sud-Finistère (Bretagne occidentale, France), les sables de l'estran montrent des teneurs en carbonates de calcium d'origine organique variant de 7 à 46,5%.
