ABSTRACT Despite evidence for various child poverty reduction strategies, there is ambiguity regarding the most effective types to inform policy. Using multiple infected and uninfected Drosophila sturtevanti lines, we investigated (i) the impact of Wolbachia on fecundity and (ii) its effects relative to antibiotic treatment. Based on over 1680 dissected ovaries, fecundity was similar between infected and uninfected flies.
