Comparison between Day 0 and traditional protocols for estrus synchronization and multiple ovulation in crossbred hair sheep

open access: yesJournal of Applied Animal Research, 2019
This study was carried out to compare Day 0 and traditional protocols for in vivo embryo production. Twenty-two crossbred ewes were used as embryo donors and assigned to two groups.

Comparison of estrus response and pregnancy rates of beef cows synchronized with progesterone and prostaglandin-based protocols. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this study was to compare the estrus response and pregnancy rate between the indigenous beef cows of Malaysia; Kedah-Kelantan (KK) and the exotic beef cows; Brangus (BR) following progesterone and prostaglandin-based estrus synchronization ...

Altered progesterone concentrations by hormonal manipulations before a fixed-time artificial insemination CO-Synch + CIDR program in suckled beef cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We hypothesized that pregnancy outcomes may be improved by inducing luteal regression, ovulation, or both (i.e., altering progesterone status) before initiating a timed–artificial insemination (TAI) program in suckled beef cows.

Oestrus synchronization for accelerated delivery of improved dairy genetics in Ethiopia: Results from action research and development interventions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Oestrous synchronization is the manipulation of the oestrous cycle or induction of oestrus to bring a large percentage of a group of females cattle into oestrus at a short, predetermined time. The first field trial on hormonal oestrous synchronization

Synchronization of Estrus in Dairy Heifers: A Field Demonstration

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1986
Use of prostaglandin F2 alpha to synchronize estrus was demonstrated over 3 yr with 2966 dairy heifers in 45 herds. Reproductive status of all heifers was determined before any injections occurred. Anovulatory heifers (8.3%) were not injected or inseminated. Ovulatory heifers received one intramuscular injection and most heifers received two injections
