Proteasome inhibition alters mitotic progression through the upregulation of centromeric α‐Satellite RNAs

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 289, Issue 7, Page 1858-1875, April 2022., 2022
Here, we show that the 26S proteasome regulates α‐Satellite ncRNAs transcription. The levels of α‐Satellite ncRNAs are associated with mitotic progression. Moreover, we demonstrate that α‐Satellite ncRNAs interact with proteins that control mitotic progression and also that α‐Satellite DNA arrays contain transcription factor binding motifs.
