Species Distribution Models Reveal the Resilience of Protected Areas for Conserving an Endemic Amazonian Canid

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the impacts of climate change on the distribution of the Amazon‐endemic canid Atelocynus microtis, highlighting projected habitat loss under future scenarios (SSP2–4.5 and SSP5–8.5). Despite substantial reductions in suitable habitat, a significant proportion remains within Protected Areas, emphasizing their critical

Hidden Losses: Assessing the Risk of Coextinction Among Ectoparasitic Flies and Their Bat Host Species in Brazil

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
The potential impact of bat species extinction on the number of their ectoparasitic fly species, based on interaction data for Brazil. As bat host species are removed over time, more connected species (green) would experience steeper declines and lead to greater ectoparasite losses when compared to a random extinction model (gray).

Characterisation of the Mesial Root and Middle Mesial Canal Morphology in Mandibular First Molars: An Ex Vivo Micro‐CT Study

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This ex vivo study characterised the mesial root morphology of mandibular first molars with a middle mesial canal (MMC) using micro‐CT. Among 469 scanned molars, 42 (8.96%) presented an MMC. Morphological parameters analysed included canal configuration, chamber orifice features, dentine thickness, isthmus type, and aspect ratio.
