Effect of etching conditions on pore shape in etched ion-track polycarbonate membranes
Radiation Measurements, 2009We have undertaken a systematic investigation of the influence of methanol and applied transmembrane potential on the shape of conical pores produced by the track-etch technique. Heavy ion tracks in polycarbonate foils were chemically etched in an electrolytical cell under various conditions (different methanol content in the etchant, and applied ...

Investigation of nanopore evolution in ion track-etched polycarbonate membranes
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2007Single heavy ion tracks in polycarbonate foils were chemically etched in an electrolytical cell under various conditions (different temperatures, etchant concentrations, and applied potentials), and the pore evolution was monitored by measuring the current through the membrane. Different zones of the latent tracks could be identified via changes in the

Double metal replication of etched ion-track polymer membranes
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1999Abstract Metal membranes encompassing on large areas with pores having diameters in the micrometer range at densities up to 10 6 –10 7 per cm 2 can be produced by double metal replication. Polycarbonate foils irradiated with energetic heavy ions and etched are used as templates.

Etched ion track polymer membranes for sustained drug delivery
Radiation Measurements, 2003Abstract The method of track etching has been successfully used for the production of polymer membranes with capillary pores. In the present paper, micropore membranes have been prepared by swift heavy ion irradiation of polycarbonate (PC). PC films were irradiated with ions of gold, silicon and oxygen of varying energies and fluence.

Substrate-specific functional membranes based on etched ion tracks
Radiation Measurements, 1997Abstract A novel thin membrane synthesized by copolymerizing diethyleneglycol-bis-allylcarbonate (CR-39) with a minor amount of acryloyl-L-proline methyl ester (A-ProOMe) was etched by an aqueous NaOH solution after a 6.19 MeV/n 84Kr ion irradiation to produce ion-track membranes.

Magnetotransport measurements on Bi2Te3 nanowires electrodeposited in etched ion-track membranes
Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 2019Abstract We report on the magneto-transport properties of individual Bi2Te3 nanowires with diameters ranging from 25 nm to 120 nm fabricated by electrodeposition in etched ion-track membranes. The metallic behavior of all nanowires is typical for highly-degenerate semiconductors and the weak temperature dependence of the resistivity suggests a weak ...

Formation of metal membranes by direct duplication of etched ion-track templates
Applied Physics A: Materials Science & Processing, 2003A method for direct electrochemical metal duplication of pores in ion-track polymer membranes is described. It allows fabrication of metallic membranes using any metal, which is readily deposited by electroplating from aqueous solutions. The metal is deposited on one side of the template membrane, facing the anode, which is made conductive by a thin ...

Controlling the Length of Conical Pores Etched in Ion‐Tracked Poly(ethylene terephthalate) Membranes
Small, 2009AbstractAn etching procedure that allows for reproducible control of the length of conically shaped pores etched into poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) membranes is developed. At the lower etch temperature used (20 °C), the length of the pore is found to be linearly related to etch time.
