In the present paper, micropore membranes have been prepared by swift heavy ion irradiation of polycarbonate (PC). Abstract A novel thin membrane synthesized by copolymerizing diethyleneglycol-bis-allylcarbonate (CR-39) with a minor amount of acryloyl-L-proline methyl ester (A-ProOMe) was etched by an aqueous NaOH solution after a 6.19 MeV/n 84Kr ion irradiation to produce ion-track membranes.

Controlling the Length of Conical Pores Etched in Ion‐Tracked Poly(ethylene terephthalate) Membranes

AbstractAn etching procedure that allows for reproducible control of the length of conically shaped pores etched into poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) membranes is developed. At the lower etch temperature used (20 °C), the length of the pore is found to be linearly related to etch time.
