Divine Generation and Human Potentiality
Divine Perfection and Human Potentiality, 2019Chapter 1 demonstrates that divine generation is the beginning of Hilary of Poitiers’s trinitarian anthropology. This chapter frames the discussion of divine generation within the boundaries of early Christian interpretation of John 1:1–4, Hilary’s ...

Nicaea and the Analytic Unfolding of Divine Sonship
Reformed Theological ReviewThe doctrine of eternal generation sometimes draws the objection that it sounds like it is covertly telling a story about how the Son came to be. This objection, called here the story objection, can be answered in several ways.

Does general relativity allow an observer to view an eternity in a finite time?
Foundations of Physics Letters, 1992I investigate whether there are general relativistic spacetimes that allow an observerµ to collect in a finite time all the data from the worldline of another observerλ, where the proper length ofλ's worldline is infinite. The existence of these spacetimes has a bearing on certain problems in computation theory.

Time, Eternity, and the Generation of the Son: Contra Eunomium III 7
2014This chapter discusses Contra Eunomium ( CE ) III 7, which is one of the shortest of CE III. In CE III 7 especially the time-issue is central: Gregory of Nyssa is adamant in underlining that there is no 'before' or 'after' within the deity; that there is no distance whatsoever between Father and Son. Gregory starts from quotations, paraphrases or
