Ethanol-induced conditioned taste aversion to ethanol
Alcohol, 1984A single injection of 2.5 g/kg ethanol one hr after drinking a 10% ethanol-0.05% saccharin solution produced a persistent conditioned taste aversion to the ethanol-saccharin solution. Twelve pairings produced a still stronger aversion that generalized to an aversion to a 10% ethanol solution without saccharin.

The ethanol stimulus in rats with differing ethanol preferences
Psychopharmacology, 1981Alcohol-accepting (AA) and alcohol-nonaccepting (ANA) rats (Alko, Finland) were tested for their ability to master a shock-motivated (0.6 mA scrambled AC current) T-maze discrimination in which IP injections of ethanol (1.0 g/kg, 10% w/v in saline, 20-min latency) and, on alternate days, equivolume saline were employed as a discriminative stimuli ...

Metabolism of Ethanol and the Effect of Ethanol on Metabolism
1977It may appear surprising in view of the spectacular advances made in biology in recent years that the chemically simple process, the oxidation of ethanol via acetaldehyde to acetate, is still not sufficiently known with regard to biochemical mechanisms, localization in the body, and effects on the metabolism of other substances.
