Is there a relationship between middle concha bullosa and ethmoid roof asymmetry? [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2022
Introduction: The middle turbinate and ethmoid roof are intranasal structures and may have many anatomical variations. These structures, which serve as anatomical markers during functional sinus surgery, are important for preventing complications and ...

Morphological Characteristics of the Anterior Ethmoidal Artery in Ethmoid Roof and Endoscopic Localization [PDF]

open access: yesSkull Base, 2009
To provide anatomical data to help identify and locate the anterior ethmoidal artery (AEA) precisely during endoscopic procedures. We dissected 15 adult cadaver heads, which provided 30 specimens, to study morphological characteristics, courses, and several types of variations. We found the average diameter of the AEA to be 0.80 +/- 0.24 mm.

An Analysis of the Anatomic Variations of the Paranasal Sinuses and Ethmoid Roof Using Computed Tomography [PDF]

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Medicine, 2019
Objective: To determine the Keros classification and asymmetrical distribution rates of the ethmoid roof and the frequency of anatomic variations of the paranasal sinuses.

Is There a Relationship between the Height of the Ethmoid Roof and The Anterior Ethmoidal Artery Tract in Children and Adolescents?

open access: yesJournal of Contemporary Medicine, 2021
Aim: The anterior ethmoidal artery course and the height of the ethmoid roof should be determined in paranasal sinus surgery to avoid complications. In this study, the relationship between anterior skull base height and anterior ethmoidal artery (AEA ...

Supraorbital ethmoid cells (SOECs), anterior ethmoid artery notch and ethmoid roof relation in PNSCT

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2023
We investigated supraorbital ethmoid cell (SOEC) presence and types in paranasal sinus computed tomography (PNSCT).The PNSCT images of 188 adult patients (93 males and 95 females) were evaluated as SOEC group (n = 87 sides), and non-SOEC group (n = 289 sides, control).

CBCT Assessment of Ethmoid Roof Variations through Keros, Gera, and TMS Classifications. [PDF]

open access: yesInt J Otolaryngol, 2022
Background. This study is designed to assess the variations of the ethmoid roof through the Keros, Gera, and Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore (TMS) classifications by means of Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). Materials and Methods. 372 CBCT scans were reviewed. The depth of the olfactory fossa (OF) was defined by the height of the lateral lamella (LL).

Isolated fungus ball in a single cell of the left ethmoid roof: A case report. [PDF]

open access: yesWorld J Clin Cases, 2021
Isolated fungus ball (FB) in a single cell of the left ethmoid roof is a very rare condition. We report the case of a 51-year-old female patient whose computed tomography presented a soft tissue mass filling in the left ethmoid roof cell. The patient did not complain of any specific sinonasal symptoms, such as nasal discharge, nasal obstruction, and ...
