Sinolith in the ethmoid sinus

We report a case of sinolith in the left ethmoid sinus of a 61-year-old man. The patient complained of nasal obstruction. Computed tomography revealed a small, calcified mass associated with a nasal polyp in the left ethmoid sinus. The antrolith and polyp were removed via endoscopic sinus surgery. Histopathological analysis of the antrolith revealed it

A 15-year-old female was evaluated for pain in the region of the right medial canthus and increasing exophthalmos. She had been diagnosed as having pseudo-tumor of the right orbit when she was 8 years old. The diagnosis was sustained until a second ophthalmologist requested a CT scan which demonstrated a mucocele of the right ethmoid sinus.

The paranasal sinuses are a rare site for neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC). In contrast to the other regions, NEC of the sinuses has been reported to be recurrent and locally destructive. We report a case of NEC of the ethmoid sinuses. The patient was a 16-year-old Indian boy and was treated with radiation therapy to 6500 rad.

AbstractA young woman developed metastases to both breasts from an ethmoid sinus adenocarcinoma diagnosed 2 1/2 years earlier. Despite surgical excision of the breast metastases, postoperative radiotherapy to both breasts, and intensive chemotherapy, her breast metastases recurred in association with rapid progression of the disease in general.
