Sulfonium‐Based Antimicrobial Block Copolymers: Influence of Hydrophobicity on Biological Activity and Antibiotic Synergy

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Sulfonium‐based antimicrobial block copolymers combine an active cationic hydrophobic block with a neutral hydrophilic block to improve cytocompatibility. The hydrophobicity of the sulfonium‐based block controls the activity against S. aureus and E coli.

Biocompatible Sulfobetaine Polymer‐Artemisinin Conjugates Inducing Ferroptosis in Cancer Cells: Synthesis by Mechanochemical Solid‐State Polymerization and Characterization

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
The amphiphilic copolymer incorporating a hydrophobic chain conjugated with artesunate into a biocompatible sulfobetaine polymer is synthesized by solid‐state copolymerization of sulfobetaine methacrylate and methacrylamide derivative conjugating artesunate.

Highly Efficient Reductive Amination of Ethanol to Ethylamines over Non-noble Metallic NiCu/MgAlO Catalyst

open access: yes
In this work, a simple and efficient approach for highly selective reductive amination of ethanol to ethylamines over a bimetallic hydrotalcite-derived NiCu/MgAlO catalyst in the vapor-phase has been developed successfully.

Enhancing High‐Humidity Stability of CsPbI3 Perovskite Solar Cells Through Strong Bidentate Ligand Coordination

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Inorganic CsPbI3 perovskite solar cells suffer from rapid phase degradation under high humidity. We show that bidentate coordination using 2‐amino‐6‐methoxybenzothiazole (AMBT) provides significantly stronger defect passivation than monodentate p‐toluenesulfonyl hydrazide, achieving a binding energy of −1.91 eV with the perovskite surface.

Dimethyl‐, Diethyl‐, and Propylene Carbonates: An Emerging Class of Green Solvents for Organic Synthesis

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in the use of organic carbonates, dimethyl carbonate (DMC), diethyl carbonate (DEC), and propylene carbonate (PC), as solvents in organic synthesis. Based on over seventy studies from the past 6 years, it shows their application in different organic reaction types, emphasizing their role in safer and more ...

Chiral (Stereoselective) Drugs, Asymmetric Synthesis, and Racemic Resolution Methods

open access: yesChirality, Volume 38, Issue 7, July 2026.
Chirality is crucial in drug development since both biological targets in the organism and the majority of pharmaceutical compounds are chiral. The synthesis and resolution of chiral compounds are critical steps while developing chiral drugs. Asymmetric synthesis and racemic resolution are the two most common methods for obtaining enantiopure drugs ...

Facile Regio- and Stereoselective Carbon-Carbon Coupling of Phenol Derivatives with Aryl Aziridines

open access: yes, 2006
A chemo-, regio-, and stereoselective direct carbon-carbon coupling of readily available aryl borates with N-protected aryl aziridines provides a method for the synthesis of new 2-(o-hydroxyaryl)-2-aryl ethylamines which can be used, in a novel ...

Halogen-Bonding Interaction Stabilizing Cluster-type Diastereomeric Salt Crystals

open access: yes, 2016
O-Ethyl 4-chlorophenylphosphonothioic acid (1) was newly synthesized and applied as a chiral selector for the enantioseparation of racemic 1-(4-halophenyl)ethylamines (halo = F, Cl, Br, I; 2a−d) through diastereomeric salt formation.

Supramolecular Aggregates of Amino Acid‐Functionalized 1,8‐Naphthalimides for Chiral Recognition

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2026.
We synthesized three self‐assembling, amino acid‐functionalized 1,8‐naphthalimides. We studied their aggregation in solution and demonstrated their chiral recognition ability by fluorescence and resonance light scattering measurements. Notably, these fluorescent probes maintain their chiral recognition ability when incorporated in solid supports like ...

Design and Synthesis of Pyrimidino[4,5‐d]Pyrimidine‐Based Compounds as Potent B‐RAF V600E Inhibitors

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Novel pyrimido[4,5‐d]pyrimidine‐based inhibitors selectively target B‐RAF V600E with nanomolar affinity and adopt distinct type‐II binding modes. Complementary cellular profiling reveals highly active analogs, underscoring the versatility of this chemotype and establishing it as a promising scaffold for the development of next‐generation kinase ...
