Copolymerization Studies of Vinyl Chloride and Vinyl Acetate with Ethylene Using a Transition-Metal Catalyst [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Since the advent of Ziegler−Natta polymerization of ethylene, attempts have been made to extend coordination polymerization to commercially important monomers with polar functionality. In this study we examined the copolymerization of perdeuterated vinyl

Multi‐Faceted Binder Enhancement via Slurry‐Applicable Thiol‐Ene Click Chemistry for Low‐Pressure‐Operable All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cross‐linked binders with enhanced resiliencies under low operating pressures are designed via in situ thiol‐ene click reactions within slurries. Cross‐linking improves the Young's moduli and elasticities of the styrene‐butadiene rubber binders, effectively mitigating interparticle delamination within the composite cathodes induced by volumetric ...

Solvent‐Free Bonding Mechanisms and Microstructure Engineering in Dry Electrode Technology for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dry electrode technology revolutionizes battery manufacturing by eliminating toxic solvents and energy‐intensive drying. This work details two promising techniques: dry spray deposition and polymer fibrillation. How their unique solvent‐free bonding mechanisms create uniform microstructures for thicker, denser electrodes, boosting energy density and ...

Effective Sliding Motions of Vibration‐Induced Emission Stoppers in Mechanically Interlocked Molecules as Artificial Muscle Tougheners and In Situ Molecular Shuttling Sensors for Self‐Healable Mechano‐Fluorescent Polyurethane Organogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The self‐healable ratiometric mechano‐fluorescent polyurethane (PU) organogel is constructed by incorporating a minor amount (ca. 1.5 wt.%) of the unconventional daisy chain rotaxane (as an artificial molecular muscle toughener) with specific sliding motions and ratiometric emission behaviors into the PU skeleton, which reveals the progressed intrinsic

Compatibility of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA)/ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH)/EVA films with gamma, electron-beam, and X-ray irradiation

open access: yesnpj Materials Degradation, 2023
Many polymer-based medical devices are sterilized by gamma irradiation. To reduce the use of cobalt-60 gamma-ray sources, transition from gamma ray to alternative irradiation technologies was proposed, namely electron beam (e-beam) and X-ray.

Photochemical properties and activity of water-soluble polymer/c(60) nanohybrids for photodynamic therapy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Water-soluble star-like poly(vinyl alcohol)/C(60) and poly{[poly(ethylene glycol) acrylate]-co-(vinyl acetate)}/C(60) nanohybrids are prepared by grafting macroradicals onto C(60) and are assessed as photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy.

Hybrid Nanofibers for Multimodal Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Fabrication of wound healing scaffolds based on biocompatible nanofibers. Nanofibers offering high surface area, flexibility, and biocompatibility significantly improved the healing outcome in vivo. Histological, immunological, and anti‐inflammatory markers are noticeably better in treated wounds.
