SKELETAL SILVER CATALYSTS FOR THE OXIDATION OF ETHYLENE TO ETHYLENE OXIDE
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1956Skeletal silver catalysts of high specific activity have been prepared by the removal of calcium from calcium–silver alloys. The activity of these catalysts in the oxidation of ethylene to ethylene oxide has been investigated. Catalysts prepared by the removal of the other alkaline earth metals from their alloys with silver have also been studied.

To the Editor.— Several cases are presented in which contact dermatitis occurred secondary to prepackaged wound dressing material containing excessive quantities of ethylene oxide used during sterilization. Ethylene oxide is a colorless gas widely used for sterilization of medical supplies and equipment.

Structures of Ethylene Oxide and Cyclopropane [PDF]
MY suggestion1 that ethylene oxide and cyclopropane might be portrayed as (I)-(II) rather than (III)-(IV) has been criticized2,3. I wish, therefore, to discuss my suggestion further.

THE SILVER CATALYZED OXIDATION OF ETHYLENE: III. KINETICS OF ETHYLENE OXIDE OXIDATION
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1954A flow type apparatus was used for kinetic studies of the silver catalyzed oxidation of ethylene oxide (EtO) by oxygen at 274 °C. Using N2 as diluent the concentrations of O2 and ethylene oxide were varied independently from 9.9 to 79% and 2.35 to 9.4% respectively while a total pressure of 1 atmosphere was maintained. Flow rates were varied to give a

Ethylene oxide potential toxicity
Expert Review of Medical Devices, 2008The future of ethylene oxide (EO) sterilization has been questioned, owing to its associated toxicity. EO has been around for more than 60 years, mainly due to its recognized characteristics of reliability and effectiveness, coupled with the process flexibility, as well as its compatibility with most mechanical devices.

Oxidation of Ethylene Carbonate on Li Metal Oxide Surfaces
, 2018Understanding the reactivity of the cathode surface is of key importance to the development of batteries. Here, density functional theory is applied to investigate the oxidative decomposition of the electrolyte component, ethylene carbonate (EC), on ...

The fusion of ethylene oxide polymers
Il Nuovo Cimento D, 1994Calorimetric measurements by DSC technique have been made in pure polyethylene glycol (PEG) and oxide (PEO) polymers having a very wide molecular-weight range (from 600 to 4000 000) and in PEO (MW 600 000)-NaSCN complexes. It was found that the melting temperature increases with increasing molecular weight, ranging from 293 K in the polymer with MW=600
