Mixing ethylene-propylene diene rubber

1997
Not only are synthetic elastomers produced with a range of fundamental elastomeric properties so as to perform satisfactorily in service, but they are also designed to ensure that typical formulated compounds are mixed and fabricated into their final shapes with comparative ease.

Radiation processing of ethylene-propylene rubber

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2000
The effects of ionizing radiation on ethylene-propylene copolymer were evaluated over the range of total g doses up to 500 kGy. The influence of the irradiation dose was investigated by oxygen uptake and thermal analysis. Four testing tempera- tures (170, 180, 190, and 200°C) and two heating rates between 2.9 and 5.9 K/min were selected for oxygen ...

Ethylene—Propylene Rubbers

1981
Ethylene—propylene elastomers have become and will continue to be widely used products of superior quality. After a slow start, their position on the market is now clear and it is unlikely they will be ousted from this position.

Mechanism of bulk charging behavior of ethylene propylene rubber subjected to surface charge accumulation

Journal of Applied Physics, 2018
To investigate the bulk charging behavior of ethylene propylene rubber subjected to surface charge accumulation, surface potential decay (SPD) measurement and electro-acoustic method were employed, after the sample was treated by a corona discharge for ...

Structure-Property Relationships in Isotactic Poly(propylene)/Ethylene Propylene Rubber/Montmorillonite Nanocomposites

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2008
Nanocomposites based on isotactic polypropylene/ethylene propylene rubber (iPP/EPR) were prepared adding different amounts of montmorillonite and maleated polypropylene. The structure and morphology of the samples were characterized by small angle X-ray scattering, wide angle X-ray diffraction, electronic and optical microscopy and differential ...

Halogenation of Ethylene Propylene Diene Rubbers

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1971
Abstract The ethylene propylene diene rubbers (EPDM) have been modified by halogenation. The reaction has been considered as one mainly of addition to the double bonds of the diene portion of the rubber. Dehydrohalogenation may occur to varying degrees, depending on the conditions of the reaction and the diene present in the rubber. Part of the

Phase behavior of ethylene-propylene rubber/hexane mixtures

Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 1998
The phase behavior of EPR/hexane mixtures over the whole range of composition has been investigated by means of DSC. When the hexane content is lower than 37%, vitrification of the mixture hinders solvent crystallization and the composition dependence of the glass transition temperature (T g ) is well described by the Gordon-Taylor equation.
