Etidronic acid is an orally and intravenously active bisphosphonate, which is believed to inhibit resorption of bone via a number of cellular mechanisms, including alteration of osteoclastic activity. In studies of patients with symptomatic Paget's disease, etidronic acid 5 to 20 mg/kg/day administered orally rapidly decreased the biochemical indices ...

Spontaneous Fractures in a Patient Treated with Low Doses of Etidronic Acid (Disodium Etidronate)
Drug Safety, 1992The recommended regimen of etidronic acid (disodium etidronate) for the treatment of Paget's disease of bone is 5mg/kg/day for a period of less than six months. There have, however, been reports of impaired mineralisation of bone and concern that the risk of fracture is increased with this dosage.

Synthesis of Novel Fatty Acid Derivatives of Etidronic Acid
Synthesis, 2005Abstract: Synthesis of (1-acyloxyethylidene)-1,1-bisphosphonicacids, where the acyl group is decanoyl ( 1a ), lauroyl ( 1b ), palmitoyl( 1c ), stearoyl ( 1d ) or oleoyl ( 1e ) have been described. Preparationof (1-oleoyloxyethylidene)-1,1-bisphosphonic acid tetramethyl es-ter ( 2 ) and its P , P ¢-dimethyl ester (disodium salt 3 and acid form 4 )in ...

Anodizing of Aluminum in Etidronic Acid Solution
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2016Introduction Anodizing of aluminum under appropriate conditions allows the formation of self-ordered porous alumina (porous type oxide film). Ordered porous alumina with large-scale cell sizes and pores is required for expanding the application field in nanotechnology.
