Synthesis of Novel Fatty Acid Derivatives of Etidronic Acid [PDF]
Abstract: Synthesis of (1-acyloxyethylidene)-1,1-bisphosphonicacids, where the acyl group is decanoyl ( 1a ), lauroyl ( 1b ), palmitoyl( 1c ), stearoyl ( 1d ) or oleoyl ( 1e ) have been described. Preparationof (1-oleoyloxyethylidene)-1,1-bisphosphonic acid tetramethyl es-ter ( 2 ) and its P , P ¢-dimethyl ester (disodium salt 3 and acid form 4 )in ...

Effect of Etidronic Acid on Arterial Calcification in Dialysis Patients
Bisphosphonate drugs, including etidronic acid, are effective agents for the treatment of osteoporosis and may reduce arterial calcification. The aim of this randomised control trial was to characterise the effect of etidronic acid on arterial calcification in patients undergoing chronic haemodialysis.Patients undergoing chronic haemodialysis were ...

This study evaluated the bacterial reduction promoted by root canal preparation using irrigation with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) alone, associated with etidronic acid (1-hydroxyethane 1,1-diphosphonic acid [HEDP]) or alternated with citric acid, and after a supplementary agitation step.Extracted mandibular premolars were selected and distributed into ...

Spontaneous Fractures in a Patient Treated with Low Doses of Etidronic Acid (Disodium Etidronate)
Drug Safety, 1992The recommended regimen of etidronic acid (disodium etidronate) for the treatment of Paget's disease of bone is 5mg/kg/day for a period of less than six months. There have, however, been reports of impaired mineralisation of bone and concern that the risk of fracture is increased with this dosage.

Etidronic acid for prevention and treatment of osteoporosis [PDF]
There are concerns about loss of bone mineral density in postmenopausal women, especially in those who require concomitant corticosteroid therapy. Bisphosphonates are becoming an increasingly popular therapeutic option for treating postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Influence of etidronic acid and tartaric acid on the growth of different calcite morphologies
Journal of Crystal Growth, 2013The influence of organic additives on the crystal growth of different calcite morphologies in two crystallization processes operating under steady state and batch mode is described. The crystal growth kinetics and overgrown morphological observations of rhombohedral, scalenohedral and prismatic calcite seed crystals in the systems containing etidronic ...

A significant improvement of scheelite flotation efficiency with etidronic acid
Journal of Cleaner Production, 2018Abstract This research demonstrates an effective application of etidronic acid to improve the scheelite flotation efficiency and reduce the consumptions of energy and reagents. The cleaning recovery is significantly increased by 7%, and the cleaning cost is reduced by 17% accompanied with the efficient improvement of roughing grade from 1.22% to 1.68%

Antimicrobial Activity of a Sodium Hypochlorite/Etidronic Acid Irrigant Solution
Journal of Endodontics, 2014The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of a 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl)/9% etidronic acid (HEBP) irrigant solution on Enterococcus faecalis growing in biofilms and a dentinal tubule infection model. The antimicrobial activity of the solutions 2.5% NaOCl and 9% HEBP alone and associated was evaluated on E. faecalis biofilms
