Implementation of the ETRS89 in Europe: Current Status and Challenges

International Association of Geodesy Symposia, 2015
The EUREF (Reference Frame Sub-Commission for Europe) Permanent GNSS Network (EPN) serves as the backbone for the realization of, and access to, the European Terrestrial Reference System (ETRS89). The cumulative site positions and velocities for the EPN stations are used for national ETRS89 densifications and geo-information applications.

A RANGE OF ED50-ETRS89 DATUM TRANSFORMATION MODELS TESTED ON THE SPANISH GEODETIC NETWORK

Survey Review, 2006
AbstractA set of datum transformation models for performing ED50-ETRS89 datum transformation in Spain are presented. These comprise 5/7 parameters, complex and real polynomials and distortion modelling. The latter case includes several tests using external points for the three methods explored: Rubber Sheeting, Minimum Curvature Surfaces and Least ...

Local to ETRS89 datum transformation for Slovenia: triangle-based transformation using virtual tie points

Survey Review, 2013
The present paper presents a geodetic datum transformation between the old and new national coordinate reference systems of Slovenia. The basis for transformation is a set of about 2000 points coordinated in both systems. Virtual tie points are used, which form a regular triangular network covering the entire country.

Systematical Analysis of the Transformation Between Gauss-Krueger-Coordinate/DHDN and UTM-Coordinate/ETRS89 in Baden-Württemberg with Different Estimation Methods

International Association of Geodesy Symposia, 2009
For the concrete “Introduction of ETRS89 into Baden-Wurttemberg” the transformation which transforms the existing two-dimensional Gauss-Krueger coordinates in German geodetic reference system (DHDN) into UTM coordinates in the ETRS89 datum with the models of the 7-parameter Helmert transformation and the 6-parameter affine transformation using the 131 ...

Datum transformation by Gauss projection of the ellipsoid onto the sphere and bilinear function of complex variable: An application to ETRS89–ED50

Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2008
In this paper a simple method for accurate transformation of geodetic coordinates is presented. The process uses the regional network of points allocated in both geodetic systems researching only the two-dimensional problem (longitude and latitude). Basically, transformation of any point P consists to determine first the three network vertexes nearest ...

Síť trigonometrických bodů I. řádu JTSK a její propojení s realizací systému ETRS89 v ČR

Družicové metody v teorii a praxi 2024
The JTSK First order trigonometric points (TP) network was being built on the Czechoslovakia territory between 1921 and 1953.Its initial implementation was completed in the spring of 1927 and included 268 trigonometric points, which thus form the basic framework of the Czechoslovak positional geodetic control.

Horizontal coordinates transformation and residuals modelling on the territory of the Republic of Srpska [PDF]

open access: yesSurvey Review, 2020
The paper describes the optimal model for coordinate transformation between ETRS89 and old national reference system in the Republic of Srpska. The Helmert`s parameters were estimated, based on a set of 1 741 common points.

A study of distorsions of the primary triangulation network of Slovenia

open access: yesActa Geodaetica Et Geophysica Hungarica, 2003
The paper presents some methods of transforming ETRS89 co-ordinates to official Slovenian datum (D48)  co-ordinates. Together with traditional transformation methods of scaling, translation and rotation least squares collocation is also used. The results

Transforming ITRF Coordinates to National ETRS89 Realization in the Presence of Postglacial Rebound: An Evaluation of the Nordic Geodynamical Model in Finland

2011
The IAG Reference Frame Sub-Commission for Europe (EUREF) created the European Terrestrial Reference System 89 (ETRS89) and fixed it to the Eurasian plate in order to avoid time evolution of the coordinates due to plate motions. However, the Fennoscandian area in Northern Europe is affected by postglacial rebound (PGR), causing intraplate deformations ...
