The spatial ecology of stalk‐and‐ambush predators like the Eurasian lynx Lynx lynx depends on prey availability and environmental features, yet the relative roles of these factors remain unclear at large spatial scales. In this study, we analysed lynx habitat use across central and southern Finland using snow‐track data from the Wildlife Triangle ...

ABSTRACT Excessive beach accumulations of stranded macrophytes, also known as wrack, are a growing challenge for coastal ecosystems and management, particularly when dominated by invasive species. The Asian brown alga Rugulopteryx okamurae has rapidly proliferated along the southern coast of Spain, causing significant ecological and socioeconomic ...

Projected Evolution of Climatic Aridity in Spain: Robust Signals and Model Uncertainties
This study examines the projected evolution of climatic aridity in Spain throughout the 21st century, using the UNEP Aridity Index and CMIP6 simulations under different emission scenarios and global warming levels. Despite model biases, results show a general increase in aridity across the country, particularly in southern regions and the Canary ...

Mapping River Bed Topography in Whitewater Rapids Using Bathymetric LiDAR
ABSTRACT Bathymetric LiDAR captures river topography efficiently for clear and shallow water, but for mountain rivers, whitewater rapids still pose challenges. This study proposes a novel method to enable the extraction of bottom returns specifically in turbulent whitewater sections.

Abstract Effective management of pig slurry in semi‐arid settings is critical to protect soils and aquifers. This study integrates multi‐profile electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) compiled into stitched 3D volumes with a calibration based on modified Archie's law derived from laboratory resistivity–moisture tests to obtain semi‐quantitative soil ...

ABSTRACT Ensuring that species of conservation concern achieve favorable conservation status (FCS) is central to European Union (EU) biodiversity conservation targets. A key criterion for FCS is exceeding the favorable reference range (FRR)—the range extent needed to support long‐term species stability across sufficient environmental variation. However,

We analyse the geological processes of a coastal embayment in the Kattegat. Using high‐resolution seismic data and sediment cores, we describe a geological evolution from glacial to shallow marine stages with a variety of preserved facies from different depositional settings, including glacio‐lacustrine, telmatic, limnic and coastal environments.
