The phylogenetic placement of a new species of Amomum (Zingiberaceae) from the Philippines

During recent fieldwork in Pasonanca Natural Park, Zamboanga City, Philippines, we collected a ginger species belonging to Amomum sensu stricto that resembled the Bornean endemic Amomum stenosiphon. In phylogenetic analyses based on ITS trnK/matK sequences, the Philippine collections formed a monophyletic group but did not group with A.

New species and new records in Agarista (Ericaceae) from the Peruvian Andes

Agarista (Ericaceae) is currently represented in Peru by three species. Here, we update this number to five, adding new taxa based on the recognition of a taxonomic novelty and new records. The new species Agarista eugeniifolia differs from all congeneric species by an abaxially sulcate midvein.

Boswellia oropedionis (Burseraceae) sp. nov., a frankincense tree from Socotra, and notes on B. ameero and B. bullata

The new species Boswellia oropedionis Thulin and M.H.Weber is described, illustrated by photographs and mapped. This tree is only known from a small population growing on level limestone on the Qatariyah plateau in southern Socotra and is the twelfth endemic species of Boswellia from the Socotra archipelago. It differs from B.

Amidst the remnants of the Atlantic Forest, a new species and a new record of Dalechampia (Euphorbiaceae) were found in Pernambuco, Brazil

Dalechampia microcalyx is described as new to science and Dalechampia viridissima is recorded for the first time for the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Both species occur in remnants of the Atlantic Forest in the state, found in the municipalities of Vicência and São Lourenço da Mata, respectively.
