Constituents of aromatic plants: eucalyptol
Fìtoterapìâ, 2002The subacute toxicity studies reported up to now in rats and mice suggested that mice were less susceptible than rats to the toxicity of eucalyptol. In fact, after gavage, it was found toxic in male rats at doses higher than 600 mg/kg while no effect was seen in mice up to 1200 mg/kg.

Eucalyptol alleviates cisplatin-induced kidney damage in rats
Drug and Chemical Toxicology, 2022This study was aimed to explore the therapeutic effect of eucalyptol on cisplatin induced kidney damage in Wistar albino rats. The animals were divided into four groups: sham (S), eucalyptol (E), cisplatin (C), and cisplatin + eucalyptol (CE) randomly, six animals in each group.

The spectrophotometric determination of cineole (eucalyptol)
Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1950A procedure is presented for the determination of small quantities of eucalyptol in pharmaceutical preparations. This analytical method yields satisfactory results when various expectorants and antiseptics, such as menthol, benzyl alcohol, thymol, and camphor are present.

AbstractEucalyptol, the main active component of Artemisia vulgaris (A. vulgaris) essential oil, can reduce the activity of Tribolium castaneum (T. castaneum) metabolic detoxification enzymes. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the toxic effect of eucalyptol on T. castaneum is still unclear. Here, results showed that the eucalyptol caused time‐

Eucalyptol reduces airway hyperresponsiveness in rats following cigarette smoke-exposed
Pulmonary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 2020Cigarette smoke is the major cause of airway inflammatory disease, including airway hyperresponsiveness. Eucalyptol (EUC), also named 1.8-cineole, is a monoterpenoid found in essential oil of medicinal plants, showing several biological effects.Based in the eucalyptol protective activity in respiratory diseases as asthma, our hypothesis is that ...

Mechanistic insights into Candida biofilm eradication potential of eucalyptol
Journal of Applied Microbiology, 2020Candida-associated fungal infections are prevalent in hospitalized and immune-compromised patients. Their biofilm architecture and high rate of antifungal resistance make treatment challenging. Eucalyptol (EPTL), a monoterpene majorly present in the essential oil of eucalyptus is well known for curing respiratory infections.

Eucalyptol and Its Role in Chronic Diseases
2016Patients with chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, and neurological diseases have been shown to benefit from treatments such as aromatherapy in addition to medication. Most chronic diseases are caused by chronic inflammation and oxidative stress as well as harmful factors. Eucalyptol (1,8-cineole), a terpenoid
