Comparing of Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Eucalyptus grandis) Essential Oil Compositions Growing in Hatay Ecological Conditions

open access: yesProceedings of the 9th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Systems, 2022
Essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation of Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Eucalyptus grandis from Hatay (Turkey), were analyzed by GC/MS. The total ratio of twenty-three components in Eucalyptus camaldulensis volatile components with 98.15%. This ratio is seen as forty-seven components and 99.66% in Eucalyptus grandis.

Spatial Distribution, Abundance, and Threats to the Indian Pangolin (Manis crassicaudata) in Buner District, Lesser Himalayas

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
First quantitative study of the Indian pangolin population in Buner District. GIS mapping revealed uneven spatial distribution across elevation zones. ABSTRACT The Indian pangolin (Manis crassicaudata), an elusive and endangered mammal, remains poorly studied in Pakistan, particularly in the mountain landscapes of the Lesser Himalayas.

Vegetation of Culgoa National Park, central northern New South Wales [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The vegetation of Culgoa National Park (22 986 ha in area; 29°15’ S, 147°15’ E) in the central north of New South Wales, approximately 40 km west of Goodooga and adjoining the NSW/Queensland border, is described. Six vegetation communities are delineated

Traits Explain Canopy Tree Occurrence Along Regional Environmental Gradients: A Subset Combine to Be Useful

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Our paper addresses the problem of “How to predict where a tree can be found from its traits?” We show that wood density, bark thickness, maximum height and seed mass combine for a useful model of tree distributions. ABSTRACT Trait‐Species Distribution Models (trait‐SDM) help to understand the importance of plant strategies to niches, assess their ...

Effect of Echinophora platyloba , Stachys lavandulifolia, and Eucalyptus camaldulensis plants on Trichomonas vaginalis growth in vitro

open access: yesAdvanced Biomedical Research, 2012
Background: Trichomonas vaginalis is a protozoan parasite which causes vaginitis in women worldwide. Metronidazole with vast side effects is drug of choice for this infection. In search for an alternative drug, in this study the effect of three plants on

Leaf Litter Leachate Limits Fungal Pathogen Growth but Not Amphibian Infection

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Terrestrial leaf litter can have direct effects on aquatic organisms. We found that leaf litter leachates can have direct negative effects on a fungal amphibian pathogen (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis), but these effects did not translate to large changes in infection.

Eucalyptus oleosa Essential Oils: Chemical Composition and Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Activities of the Oils from Different Plant Parts (Stems, Leaves, Flowers and Fruits) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation from the different parts (stems, adult leaves, immature flowers and fruits) of Eucalyptus oleosa were screened for their antioxidant and antimicrobial properties and their chemical composition. According to GC-

Linking two wood biochars physicochemical properties with soil water evaporation dynamics from amended sandy soil

open access: yesSoil Science Society of America Journal, Volume 90, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
Abstract Conflicting reports on biochar's effect on soil evaporation (E) highlight a poor understanding of how its physicochemical properties govern E dynamics in sandy soils. Thus, the aim of this study was to provide mechanistic insights by correlating biochar physicochemical properties with the distinct stages of evaporation.

Feeding ecology of Australian Christmas beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Rutelinae): Implications for conservation and habitat management

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 65, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract Christmas beetles (subfamily Rutelinae, genera Anoplognathus, Calloodes and Repsimus) are an ecologically important and culturally significant group of Australian scarabs, known for their striking appearance and seasonal mass emergences. Over the last decade, anecdotal reports suggest widespread population declines, raising concerns about ...
