The genome of Eucalyptus grandis [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 2014
Eucalypts are the world's most widely planted hardwood trees. Their outstanding diversity, adaptability and growth have made them a global renewable resource of fibre and energy. We sequenced and assembled >94% of the 640-megabase genome of Eucalyptus grandis.

An investigation into collapse and shrinkage behaviour of Eucalyptus grandis and Eucalyptus grandis-urophylla wood

European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2021
In this study, the variation of collapse and shrinkage both radially and along the height of trees was investigated and their relationships with warp in the sawn boards as well as the basic physical properties of wood (density, moisture content, permeability, extractives contents and heartwood/sapwood ratio) were determined. Seventy trees of Eucalyptus

Organ Culture of Eucalyptus Grandis

Australian Forestry, 1974
SUMMARY Progress towards achieving vegetative propagation of E. grandis by organ culture is described. Most of the experiments have been done with aseptic seedlings and, with these, rooting was most readily achieved with nodal explants from the base of the seedlings; best results were obtained with foliated nodal explants. Microbial contamination was a

Photosynthetic inhibitors in Eucalyptus grandis

Phytochemistry, 1988
Abstract Unlike the G-inhibitors isolated from the leaves of Eucalyptus grandis , synthetic G-inhibitors showed no inhibition of photosynthetic electron transport. These findings indicated that small amounts of impurities present in the natural samples were responsible for the inhibition of photosynthetic electron transport.

Five phloroglucinol-monoterpene adducts from Eucalyptus grandis

Phytochemistry, 1998
Five new euglobals possessing the phloroglucinol-monoterpene structure, euglobals G8-G12, together with a known euglobal-IIc were isolated from the hexane fraction of the methanol extract of the leaves of Eucalyptus grandis. Euglobal-G8 is an adduct of formyl-isovaleroyl-phloroglucinol and gamma-terpinene whereas -G9, -G10 and -G11 have the same ...
