Effects of torrefaction on energy properties of Eucalyptus grandis wood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Torrefaction is a thermal treatment that promotes homogenization and improvement of energy properties of biomass. This study aims to evaluate the effects of torrefaction on the main energy properties of Eucalyptus grandis wood.

WUSCHEL Transcription Factor: From Stem Cell Maintenance to Crop Improvement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 24, 27 April 2026.
This review synthesizes emerging insights into WUSCHEL (WUS) as a central regulator of plant stem cell fate beyond Arabidopsis, highlighting its roles in regeneration, somatic embryogenesis (SE), and stress adaptation across crops. It explores how WUS‐centered regulatory networks, genome editing, and AI‐guided strategies can be leveraged for precise ...

Utilização de madeiras de Eucalyptus grandis E Eucalyptus dunnii para produção de painéis de partículas orientadas – OSB

open access: yesCiência Florestal, 2008
This study was developed to evaluate the feasibility of OSB manufacturing using woods of Eucalyptus grandis and Eucalyptus dunnii. Boards with nominal density of 0,70 g/cm³ and 1,0 g/cm³ were manufactured in laboratory, using 100% of wood particles from ...

Demographic History and Genetic Diversity of Rātā Moehau (Metrosideros bartlettii; Myrtaceae), a Critically Endangered Aotearoa New Zealand Endemic Tree

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
Rātā Moehau (Metrosideros bartlettii), a critically endangered tree endemic to Aotearoa New Zealand, is represented by only 14 wild individuals. We assembled its first genome, analysed genetic diversity in wild and cultivated individuals and found long‐term population decline and reduced diversity in cultivated plants—providing key insights to support ...

Den‐Site Behavior of Bengal Foxes (Vulpes bengalensis) Reveals Persistent Use, Social Interactions, and Coexistence in Shared Spaces

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
We documented fine‐scale denning behavior of the Bengal fox (Vulpes bengalensis) using 12.18 h of camera trap video from a peri‐urban landscape in north‐western Bangladesh. Analyses revealed strong site fidelity, crepuscular activity, and structured behavioral patterns including foraging, grooming, vigilance, and social interactions.

HYDROTHERMAL TREATMENT OF EUCALYPTUS GRANDIS WOOD

open access: yesFLORESTA, 2019
Among the technological alternatives to improve the quality and use of eucalyptus wood is heat treatment, as the wood has some features that may limit its use, such as dimensional instability, high anisotropy, and heterogeneous coloring. This study is aimed at evaluating the effect of time of hydrothermal treatment on physical, chemical, and mechanical

Agronomic Traits, Physiological Parameters, Chemical Composition, and In Vitro Digestibility of Urochloa Brizantha Cv. Piatã, Megathyrsus Maximus Cv. Zuri and Megathyrsus Maximus Cv. Tamani in Silvopastoral Systems

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research, Volume 69, Issue 2, April 2026.
Urochloa species are widely used in silvopastoral systems (SPS), but production losses highlight the need for more productive forages. This study evaluated agronomic, physiological, chemical composition, and in vitro digestibility responses of Urochloa brizantha cv. Piatã and Megathyrsus maximus cvs.

Wood quality of eucalyptus plantation in Brazil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The area of eucalyptus plantations in Brazil is 4,3 million ha, as a result of the fiscal incentives policies implanted in the 60's. That significant area concentrated mainly in the states of Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo and Bahia seeks to supply the demand ...
