Rhizobacteria strains as promoters of rooting in hybrids of Eucalyptus nitens × Eucalyptus globulus [PDF]

open access: yesChilean journal of agricultural research, 2018
ABSTRACT In Chile, the Eucalyptus nitens (H. Deane & Maiden) Maiden × E. globulus Labill. hybrid presents the highest production potential due to its desirable characteristics for the production of cellulose. Nevertheless, its low ability to rooting complicates the clonal propagation in nurseries, with the need for new alternatives to increase rooting.

Strategies in Ericaceae to acquire phosphorus in phosphorus‐impoverished habitats in the southwest Australian biodiversity hotspot

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 39, Issue 10, Page 2889-2904, October 2025.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract In the Southwest Australian Biodiversity Hotspot, the greatest plant species diversity tends to occur on the most phosphorus (P)‐impoverished soils. Many plant species in this P‐impoverished environment release root carboxylates that mobilise soil P which is a more ...

First Nations Aboriginal Ring Trees in New South Wales—Establishing a Cultural Context and Basic Archaeological Recording Typology

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, Volume 60, Issue 2, Page 156-175, July 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper examines ring trees—a type of culturally modified tree, intentionally created by Australian First Nations Aboriginal peoples by manipulating tree growth to form permanent loops (rings) within the structure. Historically, this site type has been underrepresented and underappreciated by academics and archaeologists.

The Australian Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994 (Cth) and how it is used for Australian native plants

open access: yesThe Journal of World Intellectual Property, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 612-639, July 2025.
Abstract With increasing interest in intellectual property relating to plants, it is timely to assess the use of Plant Breeder's Rights (PBRs) in Australia for native plants, with tens of thousands of native plants nearly all of which are endemic and many with known uses.

Population divergence in the chloroplast genome of Eucalyptus nitens [PDF]

open access: yesHeredity, 1994
Variation in the chloroplast genome of Eucalyptus nitens was assessed for ten individuals from each of eight populations covering the natural range of the species. Twenty-five mutations were detected which were distributed over 13 haplotypes. The mutations were present both within and between populations.

Identification and comparison of the yield and composition of essential oil constituents of four Eucalyptus species adapted to the climatic conditions of Khorramabad [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of HerbMed Pharmacology, 2015
Introduction: Eucalyptus has more than 400 species, while only a few species of this genus have been imported in Iran. In this study we aimed to investigate chemical compounds of the essential oils of Eucalyptus species adapted in Lorestan climate ...

Review of larval food plant associations of the Agaristinae (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Australia

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 64, Issue 2, May 2025.
Abstract The Australian Agaristinae comprises a small group of predominantly diurnal moths with aposematic larvae and adults that are assumed to be unpalatable to most predators. A critical review of the larval food plants of this subfamily based on published records in the literature, together with unpublished records, is presented.

Quantifying biodiversity benefits of woody plantings on Tasmanian farms for natural capital accounting

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 33, Issue 4, May 2025.
Newly emerging market mechanisms hold significant potential to accelerate investment in restoring biodiversity, but data and tools to account for biodiversity gains constrain their implementation. To address this challenge, we quantified habitat characteristics and plant biodiversity of 56 agroforestry and revegetation plantings in Tasmanian ...
