Influence of Sequential Changes in the Crude Oil-Water Interfacial Tension on Spontaneous Imbibition in Oil-Wet Sandstone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Crude oil-water interfacial tension in petroleum reservoir is reduced or increased due to surfactant injection or surfactant retention, respectively. Changes in the interfacial tension crucially attribute to a governing capillary pressure and hence an oil displacement in spontaneous imbibition process.

Eucalyptus-Palm Kernel Oil Blends: A Complete Elimination of Diesel in a 4-Stroke VCR Diesel Engine

open access: yesJournal of Combustion, 2015
Fuels derived from biomass are mostly preferred as alternative fuels for IC engines as they are abundantly available and renewable in nature. The objective of the study is to identify the parameters that influence gross indicated fuel conversion ...

Cinnamon and Eucalyptus Oils Suppress the Inflammation Induced by Lipopolysaccharide In Vivo

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Inflammation caused by bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) disrupts epithelial homeostasis and threatens both human and animal health. Therefore, the discovery and development of new anti-inflammatory drugs is urgently required.

Mass Exchange Dynamics of Surface and Subsurface Oil in Shallow-Water Transport [PDF]

open access: yesOcean Modeling, Vol. 129, September 2018, Pages 1-12, 2017
We formulate a model for the mass exchange between oil at and below the sea surface. This is a particularly important aspect of modeling oil spills. Surface and subsurface oil have different chemical and transport characteristics and lumping them together would compromise the accuracy of the resulting model.

Essential oil composition of Eucalyptus microtheca and Eucalyptus viminalis.

open access: yesAvicenna journal of phytomedicine, 2015
Eucalyptus (Fam. Myrtaceae) is a medicinal plant and various Eucalyptus species possess potent pharmacological actions against diabetes, hepatotoxicity, and inflammation. This study aims to investigate essential oil composition from leaves and flowers of E. microtheca and E.

Oil Spill SAR Image Segmentation via Probability Distribution Modelling [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Segmentation of marine oil spills in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images is a challenging task because of the complexity and irregularities in SAR images. In this work, we aim to develop an effective segmentation method which addresses marine oil spill identification in SAR images by investigating the distribution representation of SAR images.
