Productivity ofEucalyptus regnansForest Regenerating after Bushfire

South African Forestry Journal, 1992
SYNOPSIS A natural forest of mountain ash was clearfelled in 1983 and burned by bushfire immediately after logging. The resulting natural regeneration has high productivity, with a mean volume increment close to 50 m3/ha per year, mean rate of biomass accumulation of 22 t/ha per year, and above-ground net primary production of 36 t/ha per year.

Collapse and internal checking in the latewood of Eucalyptus regnans F.Muell

Wood Science and Technology, 1996
Tangential shrinkage was measured on longitudinal-tangential slices of separate earlywood and latewood from one board of Eucalyptus regnans F.Muell. at various temperatures. Large amounts of collapse shrinkage were measured in the latewood slices, and lesser amounts in the earlywood slices.

THE VARIATION OF FIBRE LENGTH WITHIN ONE TREE OF EUCALYPTUS REGNANS, F.v.M.

Australian Forestry, 1949
SUMMARY In an investigation of fibre lengths within one tree of Eucalyptus regnans, 50 years old and 172 feet high, particular attention was paid to the variation throughout a growth ring and it has been found that the fibres of the last-formed late wood were consistently longer than those of the early wood.

Studies of Flowering Behaviour in Eucalyptus regnans F. Muell

Australian Journal of Botany, 1975
The buds of Eucalyptus regnans are protected by an operculine involucre for 12 months and develop as exposed umbels for a further 15-17 months. The flowering period is about 3 months but the extreme range is from late February to early July at elevations of 600-750 m. Flowers remain open for 1-2 weeks.
