Extraction and characterization of two residual lignins from eucalyptus wood
Lignin, the second most abundant biopolymer on the planet, has properties that can be widely explored, moving from waste to products with high added value. Therefore, this work aimed to extract and characterize Klason and Kraft lignins from sawdust and black liquor, considered industrial waste. The raw material used was Eucalyptus grandis chips.

Activated carbon from flash pyrolysis of eucalyptus residue
Forestry waste (eucalyptus sp) was converted into activated carbon by initial flash pyrolysis followed carbonization and CO2 activation. These residues were obtained from a pilot plant in Spain that produces biofuel, the biochar represented 10-15% in weight.

REUTILIZATION OF RESIDUES AS COMPONENTS OF SUBSTRATE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF Eucalyptus grandis SEEDLINGS [PDF]
ABSTRACT Increased production of agro-industrial waste is a global concern, requiring proper disposal. In this sense, they can represent alternative sources for substrate production, adding value to the materials and reducing the cost of seedlings in the nursery.

Eco-design of Products as an Energy-environmental Strategy for Agro-industrial Development
Rural areas provide, in addition to food, raw materials to industry, and despite its importance, these areas and their processes are not independent of causing negative impacts on environment, so, as a development strategy for these territories, it is ...

Residual biomass in Eucalyptus globulus plantations according to stand quality
Residue from Eucalyptus globulus plantations is an important source of bioenergy for use in power generation plants. In this work, a set of equations was developed to calculate the amount of residual biomass in Eucalyptus globulus plantations depending on their productivity. The volume of wood underbark was obtained from 321 stands.
