Assessment of gene order computing methods for Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesBMC Medical Genomics, 2013
Background Computational genomics of Alzheimer disease (AD), the most common form of senile dementia, is a nascent field in AD research. The field includes AD gene clustering by computing gene order which generates higher quality gene clustering patterns

Euclidean distance between syntactically linked words [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2004
We study the Euclidean distance between syntactically linked words in sentences. The average distance is significantly small and is a very slowly growing function of sentence length. We consider two nonexcluding hypotheses: (a) the average distance is minimized and (b) the average distance is constrained.

Euclidean and circum-Euclidean distance matrices: Characterizations and linear preservers [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Linear Algebra, 2010
The authors study Euclidean squared distance (ESD) matrices and circum-Euclidean squared distance (CESD) matrices and provide short proofs of a number of well-known characterizations of ESD matrices. Moreover, some characterization of CESD matrices are given. In the last section, the authors characterize linear maps leaving invariant subsets of \(\text{

Untethered Magnetic Microswimmers for Targeted Particle Transport and Flow Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces magnetically actuated microswimmers to dynamically reconfigure fluid flow within a single microfluidic device. Multiple homogeneous microswimmers are independently controlled by an external magnetic field to perform translational and rotational motions, thereby inducing real‐time flow manipulation.

Research on 3D Point Cloud De-Distortion Algorithm and Its Application on Euclidean Clustering

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The 3D point cloud data collected by 3D lidars have become a significant resource for autonomous vehicles to acquire road information. But these data tend to be inaccurate due to the turning or moving of autonomous vehicles while the lidar is working ...

Microwave‐Assisted Aqueous Synthesis of Gelatin‐Norbornene for Hydrogel Crosslinking and Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A microwave‐assisted reaction is utilized to synthesize gelatin‐norbornene (GelNB), achieving a high degree of norbornene functionalization while reducing the macromer's upper critical solution temperature. The resulting GelNB macromer has high solubility at room temperature, facilitating light‐based 3‐dimensional (3D) printing of thiol‐norbornene ...

Vision‐Assisted Avocado Harvesting with Aerial Bimanual Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work outlines the design and implementation of a bimanual aerial robot that employs visual perception and learning to detect, reach, and harvest avocados. A new gripper and fixer arm assembly is used to harvest avocados, while visual perception enables the detection of avocados and estimation of their position and orientation for determining ...
