Dissimilarity measures and hierarchical methods for the study of genetic diversity on soybean
In analysis of the genetic diversity on soybean can be used agronomic, morphological and molecular traits, which are subjected to multivariate biometrical analysis.

Uncertain group decision-making with induced aggregation operators and Euclidean distance
In this paper, we present the induced uncertain Euclidean ordered weighted averaging distance (IUEOWAD) operator. It is an extension of the OWA operator that uses the main characteristics of the induced OWA (IOWA), the Euclidean distance and uncertain ...

Existing secure two-party Euclidean distance computation schemes are mostly performed based on a semi-honest model, which faces bottlenecks in computation efficiency and security. In view of this, this study proposed a secure two-party euclidean distance

Why do syntactic links not cross? [PDF]
Here we study the arrangement of vertices of trees in a 1-dimensional Euclidean space when the Euclidean distance between linked vertices is minimized. We conclude that links are unlikely to cross when drawn over the vertex sequence.

Tanaka Theorem for Inelastic Maxwell Models [PDF]
We show that the Euclidean Wasserstein distance is contractive for inelastic homogeneous Boltzmann kinetic equations in the Maxwellian approximation and its associated Kac-like caricature.

Euclidean Nature of Phylogenetic Distance Matrices [PDF]
Phylogenies are fundamental to comparative biology as they help to identify independent events on which statistical tests rely. Two groups of phylogenetic comparative methods (PCMs) can be distinguished: those that take phylogenies into account by introducing explicit models of evolution and those that only consider phylogenies as a statistical ...

Kinetic Euclidean Distance Matrices [PDF]
Euclidean distance matrices (EDMs) are a major tool for localization from distances, with applications ranging from protein structure determination to global positioning and manifold learning. They are, however, static objects which serve to localize points from a snapshot of distances.

The Effect of Distinct Geometric Semantic Crossover Operators in Regression Problems [PDF]
This paper investigates the impact of geometric semantic crossover operators in a wide range of symbolic regression problems. First, it analyses the impact of using Manhattan and Euclidean distance geometric semantic crossovers in the learning process ...

Fast exact Euclidean distance (FEED) transformation [PDF]
Fast Exact Euclidean Distance (FEED) transformation is introduced, starting from the inverse of the distance transformation. The prohibitive computational cost of a naive implementation of traditional Euclidean Distance Transformation, is tackled by three operations: restriction of both the number of object pixels and the number of background pixels ...
