Ultrastructural observations on secondary merogony and gametogony of Dactylosoma ranarum (Lankester, 1871) Labbe, 1894, in erythrocytes of Rana esculenta were made on standard thin sections and freeze-fracture replicas. Secondary merozoites formed by peripheral budding with karyokinesis and cytokinesis occurring simultaneously during early merogony ...

Two subeellular fractions from the midgut of the malaria mosquito Anopheles stephensi (Liston) were used to immunize BALB/c mice. Mice were subsequently infected with the rodent malaria parasite Plasmodium berghei (Vineke & Lips), and the effects of anti-mosquito immunity on mosquito survival and fecundity and on parasite transmission were investigated.

Abstract The ultrastructure of the principal stages of Barroussia schneideri in the intestinal cells of the centipede, Lithobius forficatus , is described. The structure of the merozoites has much in common with that of other Eimeriidae: pellicle of an outer and two inner membranes, microtubules, mitochondria, micronemes, rhoptries, endoplasmic ...

Light and electron microscopy have been used to study blood stages of H. mehlhorni as well as different developmental stages of the parasite within lung tissues of the naturally infected vipers Echis carinats captured from Siwah Oases, Egypt. A natural infection rate of 60% was recorded among vipers.
