A Steerable and Expandable Magnetic Aspiration Catheter for Enhanced Aspiration Thrombectomy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article presents a novel magnetic aspiration catheter (MAC) that can be both actively steered and undergo distal‐end expansion via externally applied magnetic fields. The MAC facilitates precise branch selection and enhances clot engagement by improving endovascular navigation and aspiration efficiency. Phantom experiments validate its feasibility

Analyzing The Behavior of Classical Functionally Graded Coated Beam

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The governing equation of a classical rectangular coated beam made of two homogeneous layers at top ceramic coated layer and bottom metal layer and also single Functionally Graded Material (FGM) as a sub coated layer subjected to uniform distributed ...

Seismic analysis and design of tunnels within fault ground: A review

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The research methods of seismic response of tunnels within fault ground, including field investigations, analytical solutions, physical experiments, and numerical simulations, and seismic countermeasures are discussed. The present study examines the shortcomings and limitations of the current research and design, and puts forward proposals for future ...

On the spectrum of Euler–Bernoulli beam equation with Kelvin–Voigt damping

open access: yes, 2011
The spectral property of an Euler–Bernoulli beam equation with clamped boundary conditions and internal Kelvin–Voigt damping is considered. The essential spectrum of the system operator is rigorously identified to be an interval on the left real axis ...

Investigation on tunnel stability considering pipe‐roof support with transparent soil technology

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study integrates transparent soil technology, 3D reconstruction and numerical simulation to captures the full‐field deformation of shield tunnel instability. Results demonstrate that pipe‐roof support enhances stability via the “soil‐arching barrier effect,” effectively restraining failure wedge development by extending stress transfer paths ...

Vibration Attenuation of Cantilever Beam Using Electromagnetic Delayed Feedback

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents a combined analytical and numerical investigation of a single‐input single‐output delayed feedback controller designed to suppress vibrations in a cantilever beam actuated by an electromagnet positioned beneath its free end. An analytical model was developed using the linearized equation of motion for a transversely excited

Well-posedness and exponential decay for the Euler–Bernoulli beam conveying fluid equation with non-constant velocity and dynamical boundary conditions

open access: yes, 2021
International audienceIn this paper, we consider an Euler-Bernoulli beam equation with time-varying internal fluid. We assume that the fluid is moving with non-constant velocity and dynamical boundary conditions are satisfied.

The Shear Effect of Large-Diameter Piles under Different Lateral Loading Levels: The Transfer Matrix Method

open access: yesBuildings
In various analytical models, modeling the behavior of large-diameter monopiles and piles can be challenging due to these foundations with huge body sizes carrying mechanisms of lateral loads to the surrounding soils.
