The Interplay of Curvature, Geometry, and Topology Shapes Tissue Organisation in Epithelial Shells
Purely geometric 3D Voronoi models predict the organisation of epithelial shells. The interplay of curvature, geometry, and topology enriches the number of pentagons in shells with lower number of cells. Small MDCK cysts and Mouse embryos match the top polygonal configurations in a compactness‐based ranking derived from the Voronoi model. In conclusion,

Evaluating the Comprehension of Euler Diagrams [PDF]
We describe an empirical investigation into layout criteria that can help with the comprehension of Euler diagrams. Euler diagrams are used to represent set inclusion in applications such as teaching set theory, database querying, software engineering ...

Integrating Kinetics into Synthetic Studies via Adaptable Concentration‐Dependent Yield Analysis
A method to derive kinetic parameters from synthetic studies was developed and named concentration‐dependent yield analysis (CYAN). Using numerical Euler integration for kinetic regression, CYAN was proven adaptable to chemical and operational considerations and revealed unexpected template effects of a transition metal that mediated competitive ...

On a sum involving the Euler totient function [PDF]
Let \(\alpha=4/\pi^2\) and \(\beta=1/3+\alpha\). In the paper under review, the author proves that as \(x\to\infty\), \[ \alpha\,x\log x+O(x)\leq\sum_{n\leq x}\varphi\left(\left\lfloor\frac{x}{n}\right\rfloor\right)\leq\beta\,x\log x+O(x), \] where \(\varphi\) is the Euler totient function.

Synchronization of Analog Neuron Circuits With Digital Memristive Synapses: An Hybrid Approach
An hybrid circuit mimicking neural units coupled using memristive synapses is introduced. The analog neurons provide flexibility and robustness, and the digital memristive coupling guarantees the full reconfigurability of the interconnection. The onset of a synchronized spiking behavior in two circuits mimicking the Izhikevich neuron is discussed from ...

The structural characteristics and resonant mechanical behavior of suspended microbridges comprised of single‐crystalline SrTiO3 that has been grown on silicon are presented. Due to differences in thermal expansion between the SrTiO3 and silicon, we find that the resonant frequencies of the microbridges are not only enhanced, but also hyper‐sensitive ...

Transient electron spin resonance distinguishes interfacial charge‐transfer states from separated charges, revealing competing charge separation pathways in organic photovoltaic blends. The relative contributions of fast charge separation and a pathway mediated by spin‐polarized charge‐transfer states vary across different blends, with high‐efficiency ...

A quantum field theoretical representation of Euler-Zagier sums
We establish a novel representation of arbitrary Euler-Zagier sums in terms of weighted vacuum graphs. This representation uses a toy quantum field theory with infinitely many propagators and interaction vertices.
