Laser Metal Deposited Ti4822 Hollow Pipe: Experimental and Computational Modelling Study

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 3, 4 February 2026.
Laser metal deposition (LMD) of a crack‐free built Ti4822 alloys is challenging. This article reports outstanding characteristics of a hollow pipe that is built with LMD technology when a predicted, nontransformation substrate temperature of 800 °C is used.

Bearing Capacity of Tension Steel Piles in Thinly Inter‐Layered Soils: Numerical Class‐A Prediction vs. Field Measurements

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, Volume 50, Issue 3, Page 1430-1450, 25 February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the bearing capacity of tension piles and pile‐soil interaction during loading. Discrepancies between predicted and measured bearing capacities in previous tests motivated the study, where analytical methods showed considerable scatter and uncertainties in design.

A general approach to the linear stability of viscoelastic shear‐flows

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 106, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract The present work provides an in‐depth analysis of the linear stability theory of viscoelastic shear‐flows, based upon a constitutive equation of the fading memory type. The particular model considered herein was introduced by Kenneth Walters through the integration of classical rate‐type fluids in a convected frame (Walters 1962).

Exploring Causal Relationships and Adjustment Timescales of Aerosol‐Cloud Interactions in Geostationary Satellite Observations and CAM6 Using Wavelet Phase Coherence Analysis

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
We present for the first time within the cloud physics context, the application of wavelet phase coherence analysis to disentangle counteracting physical processes associated with the lead‐lag phase difference between cloud‐proxy liquid water path (LWP ...

A note on forbidding clique immersions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Robertson and Seymour proved that the relation of graph immersion is well-quasi-ordered for finite graphs. Their proof uses the results of graph minors theory.

The Critical Role of the Intermittent Two‐Phase Flow Topology on the Solute Dispersion in Partially Saturated Porous Media

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Intermittent flow is a widely recognized phenomenon across various fields, characterized by the spatial‐temporal fluctuations of the two‐phase topology. However, its implications for solute dispersion and mixing remain insufficiently understood.

An Eulerian permutation statistic and generalizations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Recently, the second author studied an Eulerian statistic (called cover) in the context of convex polytopes, and proved an equal joint distribution of (cover, des) with (des, exc).

Lattice strain relaxation in thin Mo films grown heteroepitaxially on MgO single crystals

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 59, Issue 1, Page 190-205, February 2026.
The possibility of controlling the crystallographic orientation of thin metallic films via heteroepitaxy to a single‐crystalline substrate is illustrated on the example of molybdenum films deposited on MgO substrates having the orientations (001) and (011).
