Cytogenetics of the hybrids of three members of the grasshopper genus Vandiemenella (Orthoptera: Eumastacidae: Morabinae)

Chromosoma, 2004
Certain members of the grasshopper genus Vandiemenella (earlier referred to as the viatica group) form a group of chromosomally distinct taxa with contiguous distributions through south-eastern Australia. Meiosis of hybrids between three of the members that occur on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, was studied. The three members were the taxonomically

A generic and suprageneric classificatin of the Morabinae (Orthoptera : Eumastacidae), with description of the type species and a bibliography of the subfamily

Australian Journal of Zoology Supplementary Series, 1976
A generic classification of the Morabinae is proposed on the basis of characters of the external morphology, male genitalia, and karyotype, and with the aid of numerical taxonomic analyses employing eight different strategies. These gave widely divergent phenograms and the classification adopted is therefore in part intuitive; this has permitted ...
